Prof. Wang obtained PhD degree in engineering from Lund University, Sweden 2005. From May 2005 to December 2011, he worked as an assistant researcher at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. He was the main researcher of A6 and B10 subprojects of SFB606 project of German Science Foundation, focusing on large eddy simulation and experimental research of turbulent combustion in gas turbine combustion chamber, and participated in the research of PRECCINSTA project of European Union.

In December 2011, he got a permanent Professor position in Jiangsu University, China. So far, he has presided over two projects of National Natural Science Foundation, one project of Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation, and two technological development projects of Shanghai Electric Group. The total amount of scientific research projects is about 6.2 million CNY. He has published more than 50 academic papers, more than 20 SCI and EI papers. He has built a turbulence combustion laboratory with complete equipment. At present, he is the director of Advanced Power System Research Institute of Energy Research Institute.

The research direction mainly includes: clean combustion technology of new generation gas turbine, alternative fuel combustion technology, research on thermoacoustic oscillation and development and application of large-scale high-precision numerical simulation technology.

At present, he has established close scientific research cooperation relations with Shanghai Electric Group, Combustion and Environment Center of Italy (CCA), Sesta Combustion Laboratory, Italy, etc., and established "Sino Italian gas turbine combustion technology International Joint Laboratory" with CCA to jointly carry out research on gas turbine combustion technology.
